Project Description:

The Ronald Reagan Blvd. context sensitive improvements project is a product of the Heritage Village Redevelopment Strategy prepared by AECOM in 2012 and designed by Kimley-Horn and Associates under a $422,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The project boundary is between SR 434 and Palmetto Ave. and includes context sensitive improvements such as the reduction of lane widths (while maintaining the same number of lanes) to reduce the crossing distance and increase pedestrian safety as well as 7-foot wide buffered bike lanes. In addition, the project will provide more than 40 on-street parking spaces along Ronald Reagan Blvd. which will support local businesses and city events while providing an extra buffer for pedestrians.
