Vehicle break-ins are a crime of opportunity. It only takes a few seconds for thieves to check for unlocked door handles and they are gone with your wallet or phone. These crimes can be prevented if you keep good habits and lock your doors!

Keep yourself and your valuables safe;

  • Remember to lock your doors, even if you will only be a few minutes.
  • Secure your belongings, hide them out of sight or take them out of the vehicle completely.
  • Park your vehicles inside your garage if possible.
  • If you do park outside, park in a well lighted areas or within range of a motion light.
  • Keep garage doors closed and bring remote door openers inside.

Thieves will search for other vehicles that are easier targets if they do not see anything of value in your car and if it is locked. Report any suspicious activity to the Longwood Police at the non-emergency line – (407) 339-1297.
The Longwood Police Department will place a sign at our entrance and other neighborhoods to help remind everyone;
